Jan. 01, 1970 - Man died under Pop star's car.: A man was pinned beneath a Bentley car belonging to Keith Moon, Drummer of The Who pop group, following a fight started by a gang of skinheads. The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital at Welwyn Garden City but was dead on arrival. The flare-up came after Keith Moon, 23, had opened a discotheque at the Cranborne Rooms, Hatfeild. police later issued a statement: saying: An accident occurred on the A1000 at Hatfield between a motor car driven by Keith Moon and a pedestrian, who has not yet been identified. the pedestrian has received injuries which proved fatal. the car had just left the Cranborne Rooms, Hatfield, where Moon had just opened a discotheque.
