May 05, 1980 - Kid Jensen Leaves BBC For U.S.: Radio One disc jockey is leaving the BBC to present a nightly coast-to -coast television news programme in America. The 29 year old Canadian has been with Radio One since 1976 presenting it 4.30 pm weekday show. From the end of this week his show will be taken over by Paul Gambaccini. Jensen has signed a two year contract with the Turner Broadcasting System and his shows will be seen by millions of viewers in America, Canada and Hawaii.
