May 28, 1980 - KID JENSEN LEAVES BBC FOR U.S.: Radio one disc jockey is leaving the BBC to present a nightly coast-to-coast television news programme in America. The 29 year old Canadian has been with Radio One since 1976 presenting its 4.30 pm weekday show. From the end of this week his show will be taken over by Paul Gambaccini. Jonsen has signed a two year contract with the Turner Broadcasting System and his show will be seen by millions of viewers in America, Canada and Hawaii.
