1953 - Her lifelong ambition is realised. The little old lady who wanted to talk with a King.: King Frederick IX of Denmark was the guest of Honour at a meeting in the Copenhagen City Hall - organised by the Society for the prevention of Heart Illness - held to mark the society's campaign week. When the King entered the hall - a little old lady was heard to say - IS he the King?'. She was puranaded to be quiet - by some of the other guests - but suddenly she left her seat - and hurried over to the King - she touched him on the shoulder - and said i have never spoken to a King before - I am very pleased The King smilingly - acknowledged the greeting - much to the pleasure and amusement of the other guests. Photo shows King Frederick smilingly acknowledges the old lady - at the meeting in Copenhagen
