May 05, 1951 - King and Queen Fly to Balmoral Break with Custom: The King and Queen, with Princess Margaret, travelled by air today for their Whitsun holiday at Balmoral. Their decision to fly means a break with tradition. It has been customary for their Majesties to use the Royal train for journeys to Dee-side. Photo shows Princess Margaret with her pet dog follows the King as they walk to the aircraft at London Airport this afternoon
