Dec. 26 State Visit of King Carl XVI Gustaf with Queen Silvia of Sweden in West-Germany from March 20th to 27th 1979: On the Invitation of Federal President Walter Scheel, the Swedish majesties are from March 20th to 27th 1979 are for a state visit in West-Germany. They are accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs their stay King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia intends to visit following cities: Kromberg (Hessen), Heidelberg, the birth-town of Queen Silvia, Stuttgart (Baden-Wuerttenberg), Munich and Schweinfurt (Bavaria), Hamburg and Luebeck (Schleswig-Holstein). They also intend to meet a lot of politicians among them Federal President Walter Scheel and Federal Chancellor Helmut Schmidt, as well as some industrialists. The King of Sweden and his wife Queen Silvia used to occasion of the state visit to visit the parents of the Queen, who are living in Heidelberg where Queen Silvia is born and went to school.
