King Hussein and Queen Alia of Jordan
Feb. 02, 1977 - Queen of Jordan killed in Plane crash: Queen Alia Hussein the 28 year old wife of King Hussein was killed in a helicopter crash yesterday at Tafila in the high mountains of Jordan's Wadi Arabah. The crash occurred during a heavy rainstorm. Mohammed Bauhir, the Health Minister was also killed. They were married in 1972 they have three children. This was King Hussein's third wife, the other two finished in divorced the first wife was Egyptian-born princess and in 1961 he married 19 year old Toni Gardiner, the daughter of a British officer who served in Jordan, she was known as Princess Muna.
