Feb. 02, 1959 - Kirsten Flagstad becomes Director of Norwegian Opera.: The famous singer Kirsten Flagstad is taking of the new role when next Monday she will open the Norwegian Opera- the first permanent Opera stage in Norway-in Oslo. She is to direct Tiefland by Eugene d'Albert the same Opera in which she made her Debut 45 years ago, in the old Norwegian National Theatre.
