Jun. 17, 1957 - Queen Invests New Knights At Windsor. Procession To The Chapel: H.M. The Queen this afternoon invested two new Knights of the Garter - at Windsor. They were Lord Ismay, who was Churchill's Chief of Staff in the war years and Lord Middleton, Lord. Lieut. of the East Riding of Yorkshire. Photo shows General view as the procession with the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh - makes its way to St. George's Chapel for the ceremony at Windsor today
