Kurt Biedenkopf of German CDU party
Feb. 29 Excitement about Kurt Biedenkopf: Professor Kurt Biedenkopf (picture), the general secretary of the German Christian Democratic Party, is presently the centre of high waves of excitement. In an interview, which he gave to the magazine Der Spiegel, Kurt Biedenkopf appealed to the Ahlener Program of the Nordheim Westfallen CDU of 1947, which also provides the nationalisation of key industries. Besides the stir which these remarks caused within the Christian Socialist Union, also the former chancellor and longtime economics minister Ludwig Erhard has meanwhile made critical remarks about the words of the general secretary to the chairman of the CDU, Helmut Kohl. Next year, there will be again general elections in West Germany
