Kurt Christmann on trial for war crimes, Munich

NS-Process In Munich, West Germany Kurt Christmann At the Court Of Assizes: Presumably one of the last NS-processes takes place in Munich, the defendant is Kurt Christmann. The 73-year-old former businessman is said to have been a murderer in three cases with no fewer than 105 deaths. During the war in Russia as SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer he ordered the mass-murder of Jews and other persons with the collaboration of other people, watched over, and in one case he contributed to the killing with his own hand. In 1971 there was a charge against Christmann, but the process was dismissed, because the defendant could produce an opinion because of incapacity. On November 1979 there was a charge for the second time. Because of Christmann's bad state of health the proceedings take place only three hours daily
