Kurt von Schschnigg, former Chancellor of Austria
Dec. 29, 1966 - Former Austrian chancellor Kurt von Schuschnigg. He returned to Austria at the beginning of 1967 after living in exile in the United States for 21 years. He wanted to return to the Innsbruck region to spend his remaining years. Schuschnigg was imprisoned by Hitler after the annexation of Austria when he refused to work with the Nazis. After being freed by American troops from the Dachau prison camp he went to the United States
