L Fritz Gruber, prizewinning photographer from Cologne
Jun. 03, 1970 - One eye is better than two, says L Fritz Gruber from Cologne, this year's Cultural prizewinner of the German Society for Photography, and in this case he earns the camera's eye. In more than 200 international pictures, documentary, and demonstration shows of the Photokina Cologne which will have its 20th anniversary in October 1970 he has shown that he is a master in photography. Gruber is also commissioner for the Olympic Committee of art for a large-scale photographic show and the audio-visual programme. The second prizewinner is Beaumont Newhall, the manager of the George Eastman House Photo Museum in Rochester, USA who, like Gruber, has made known the significance of Photography in cultural respect. The awarding of the Culture Prize will be in Cologne on September 2nd, 1970
