Feb. 02, 1960 - Lady Mountbatten is buried at sea as she had requested: With a simple but deeply moving ceremony the body of Countess Mountbatten of Burma was taken out to sea aboard the frigate HMS Wakeful from Portsmouth this afternoon for burial. Photo shows the coffin containing the body of Countess Mountbatten is committed to the sea after the service conducted by Dr. Fisher, the Archbishop of Canterbury. On the right can be seen Prince Philip, his mother, Princess Andrew, Earl Mountbatten, and his two daughters Lady Brabourne, and Lady Pamela Hicks
