The World War II veteran landed at the annual air pageant at Biggin Hill, the wartime fighter base in Kent, so ending its last mission, a sentimental journey from Australia to Britain. As the famous bomber landed the crowds surged forward to give it a sentimental welcome home. A public subscription raised £10, 000 to get it back to Britain.
