May 31, 1966 - Young Gurkha Flies Into London To Receive Britain's Highest Award: A young Gurkha, Lance-Corporal Rambahadur Limbu, 26, of the 10th Princess Mary's Own Gurkha Rifles, has arrived in London today from Singapore to receive Britain's highest award. He is to be presented with the Victoria Cross by the Queen on July 12th for outstanding bravery in battle is Sarawak last November. Unable to speak English, he is accompanied by Captain Christopher Maunsel, from Rose-on-Wye, who has been awarded the Military Cross in the same battle, and will set as his interpreter, while here. Photo shows Gurkha Lance-Corporal Limbu meets one of the Royal Horse Guards mounted at the Horse Guards's Parade, during a sightseeing tour of London today
