Large colour TV screen for lecture and demonstration, London
Mar. 03, 1956 - Pre demonstrations of Britain's largest colour TV picture. 25-year old Eileen Oatridge will be providing the largest colour TV picture - 8ft by 76ft - that will ever have been seen in this country tonight when she appears on a newly developed colour TV projector, which has been described as TV's answer to the flying bedstead - because of its intricacy and complexity. Apart from its potential use for teaching purposes the colour projector will probably be useful in cinemas. The demonstration of the new equipment will take place during a lecture by Mr. B.J. Edwards, Technical Director of Pye, to the Radar Association. The subject of his lecture will be Colour television, past, present and future.
