Sep. 09, 1967 - The Queen launches and names the new cunard liner Queen Elizabeth II'. This afternoon H.M The queen gave a name to the new Cunard Liner when she launched the 58, 000 ton ship at John Brown's shipyard at Clydebank. The closely guarded secret of her name until the queen named the Q 4 liner Queen Elizabeth II'.
