Jan. 01, 1959 - Lauren Bacall Attended Starring Of Work Of New Cinema; Hollywood film star Lauren Bacall, who is here to prepare for her co-starring role with Kenneth More in North West Frontier for the Rank Organisation, today before a bottle of a champagne over a bulldozer in a ceremony to mark the start of work on the new Odeon theatre at Hemel Hempstead. The 1, 200 seat Odeon is the first theatre in Britain to be planned and built by the Rank Organisation since the war. It is also the first to be started in any of the new towns. Photo shows Lauren Bacall shows to the crowd of the site, a silver plate replica of Roman plate found there, which was presented to her as a memento of her visit
