Oct. 10, 1973 - Lee Remick to play Churchill's Mother in TV Series.: American actress Lee Remick is to play Jennie Jerome, the famous American beauty who became Lady Randolph Churchill, in a series of seven one-hour plays being produced by Thames Television as Independent Television's contribution to the celebration as Independent Television's contibution to the celebrations of the Churchill Centenary Year (1974). Known as Jennie throughout her life by close freinds, she was also known as Belle Mere to her family and Lady Randolph Churchill to the world in general, a fter her marriagetothe younger son of the Duke of Marlborough, Lord Randolph Churchill, the brilliant politician who could undoubtedly have become Prime Minister had he not died at so early an age. Wife of a potentially great politician and mother of the most famous of all English poloticians - Winston Churchill - Jennie was a driving force in her circle and in both these great men's lives.
