Leopold Ahlsen, German playwright, wins drama prize
Mar. 02, 1956 - Twenty eight year old Munich writer Leopold Ahlsen received the audio drama prize for the best audio play of the year in 1955. His prizewinning play Philemon and Baucis had first been broadcast on Bavarian radio and then overhauled by NWDR in Hamburg. Ahlsen received the Gerhard Hauptmann Prize of Free Theater in Berlin for his stage-edition of this work
