Jun. 06, 1977 - Royal victory in the Oaks. Queen's horse Dunfermline wins. There was a right royal victory in the oak at Epsom today, when the queen's horse Dunfermline ridden by W. Carson, won the race. freeze the secret (G. Duttri) was second, and vaguely deb(B. Raymond) was third. The queen was not at Epsom see her horse win. Lester piggott was thrown from the favourite, Durtal, before the race and did not take part. photo shows Lester Piggott pictured in the unsaddling enclosure, after being brought back by ambulance after being thrown from the favorite Dutral before the race
