Lewisham rail disaster, SE London
Dec. 12, 1957 - 61 Killed and 200 injured in Lewisham rail disaster. 61 people were killed and more than 200 inured last night, when two packed rush hour trains crashed in the fog at Lewis-ham, south east London. The rearing wreckage of the trains smashed into a viaduct carrying another railway line and brought down the viaduct onto the wreckage. photo shows Rescue workers removing one of the victime from the wreckage early this morning
