Lewisham rail disaster, SE London
Dec. 12, 1957 - Lewisham Rail Disaster: 61 people were killed and more than 200 injured last night, when two packed rush-hour trains crashed in the fog at Lewisham, South-East London. The rearing wreckage of the trains smashed into a viaduct carrying another railway line and brought the viaduct down onto the wreckage.
