Dec. 12, 1957 - Tragic train crash in fog at Lewisham: More than forty people lost their lives when an electric train from Charing Cross to Hayes was struck by a steam train from Gem Street toal in dense fog just outside St John's station, Lewisham this evening. Part of a flyover crashed down on the wreckage. Photo shows firemen and rescue workers at the scene of the disaster this evening
