Dec. 12, 1964 - A Premier says sorry for Shirley Maclaine's ordeal in the Himalayans: A laughing Shirley Maclaine went to a show in London last night a week after soldiers held her captive for 18 hours, in the Himalayas. Fittingly, her escort on this ordinary visit to see Maggie may was Lhendup Dorji, acting Premier of Bhutan, the tiny kingdom between India and China where Shirley had been held. Perhaps Shirley's night out was something of an opology for what happened in Bhutan. She went to Bhutan early last month to meditate, but at that time the rebel army attempted a coup and Shirley was detained and later released on the orders of the King.
