Oct. 10, 1983 - Military inspection of Swiss mules: In Switzerland there are 127 mules, 29 of these in canton Valais. Every year the mules are inspected and registered by the federal authorities, as mules, which are under 16 years old can be used in Swiss army trainings and in case of war. As mules are better means of transportation of heavy loads in Alp regions. Our picture shows a mule inspection in little village Torbel in canton Valais, where the mule's teeth are inspected to determine the mule's age.
