Sep. 09, 1982 - The beginning of the end.. The occupation of the Polish Embassy in Berne, Switzerland, was ended Thursday morning, Sep. 9, by Swiss police in a short assault. OPS: Start of the police assault: Unidentified man brings breakfast suitcase requested by the occupiers, to the outdoor of the occupied building. Hidden in the suitcase is a bomb with special gas, sound and light effects. The door was blown up shortly after and the four occupiers arrested unhurt, as well as the five remaining hostages were freed unhurt
