Jul. 21, 1991 - Swiss soldiers will get new bikes: Several thousand swiss soldiers are happy to get soon new bikes with newest technology and 7 gears. Switzerland seems to bee the only country - except Finland - to maintain armed forces equipped with bicycles to move. These bikes must be able to carry not only the man, but also his gun, his backpack and loot of other things indispensable to make war. The biking-forces are very flexible and on short distances very fast. They are independent of roads and - last but not least - they are the most ecological unit of the army
