May 05, 1967 - Lifesaving Methods And Equipment Used In Demonstration On The Serpentine Lido, London: A demonstration of lifesaving methods and equipment, organised by the Surf Life Saving Association of Great Britain, was carried out today on the Serpentine Lido in Hyde Park. This method of rescue is called a Ski-Board - it shows rescuer Chris Palmer, of the Brighton Surf Lifesaving Club, grabs 21-year-old Carol Thomas, from Cardiff, South Wales, from the water and places her on the Ski-board, a large flat board propelled by canoe paddles
