Feb. 26 Queen Mary. High and Dry.: The seagoing royal monarch R.M.S. Queen Mary rest proudly on blocks in the hugh Long Beach Naval Shipyard at drydock number one. During her six weeks on the ways, the Queen Mary will have threee of her four propellers removed, 94 openings in her hull closed, her bottom sandblasted and painted, various other conversion jobs attended to before returning to Pier E. in Long Beach, for final conversion to a multi-million dollar hotel-convention centre and maritime museum complex.
