Liner Queen Mary to leave Southampton for USA

Mar. 03, 1957 - Sailing of the Queen Mary held up by Gale and Strike.: The S.S. Queen Mary did leave Southampton this afternoon as scheduled her sailing was delayed because of the gale after mooring gangs shop stewards reaffirmed their decision to boycott the shipbuilding and Engineering Unions. They claim the vessel was in the hands of repairers when the shipbuilding strike began. Photo shows police stand by the lines and the bollards on the dockside at Southampton today
