Queen Mary leaves Southampton for the United States in spite of strike ban Keystone Photo Shows: Volunteers from the Cunard Company Office untie hausers to release the liner Queen Mary when she left in the early hours of yesterday for the United States. Strikers refused to handle the ship claiming she was Black and that repairs had not been completed on her when she left the repair yards on Saturday
