1957 - The Queen Mary docks at Cherbourg to beat the Southampton dockers ban: The liner Queen Mary yesterday docked at Cherbourg and the passengers are being farried to Plymouth aboard the s.s Invernia. This is because of the declaring Black of the giant liner by dockers at Southampton. Photo shows two members of the crew aboard the Queen Mary wave from the liner as the s.s. Invernia comes in to berth alongside at Cherbourg
