1957 - The Queen Mary Docks at Cherbourg to beat the Southampton Dockers ban.. The liner Queen Mary yesterday docked at Cherbourg and the passengers are being ferried to Plymouth aboard the SS Invernia. This is because of the declaring Black of the giant liner by dockers at Southampton.
