London to Calais in seagoing four-poster bed
Aug. 08, 1972 - Three men set sail for Calais in a four - poster bed: Three men, Tom Welsh, Mike Pilkington, both from Cheshire, and David Speed, from Yorkshire.set sail today in a four poster bed mounted on an inflatable rubber boat in an attempt to cross the Channel to Calais. The boat has an outboard motor that can power it up to 25 mph.
