London couple marry in Russian costume
1959 - LONDONERS WED IN RUSSIAN COSTUME. Two Londoners - 24 year old KATHLEEN PIERCE, a language teacher at Woodberry Down Comprehensive School, Finsbury Park, and 29-year old BILL MARTIN, a carver and sculptor, of Kentish Town, were married at Islington Register Office today, wearing Russian costume. The couple met whilst doing Russian dancing, and the costumes were sent to them through the British-Soviet Friendship Society.
