Mar. 03, 1980 - Broadlands the Mountbatten home is open again: Broadlands, the stately home that Lord Mountbatten opened to the public, four months before his death, is to be open to the public once again, next Tuesday April 1st. His Grandson, Lord Romsey, will reopen the 16th century house near Romsey Hampshire, as a memorial to his grandfather and to help pay the cost of the upkeep of Broadlands.
