Lord Mountbatten inspects Australian troops, Malta
Feb. 29 Anzac Coronation Review Ships In Mediterranean. Anzac Day (April 25th) was celebrated in Malta - by the arrival in Grand Harbour, of HMAS Sydney and the cruiser HMNZS Black Prince for a short stay while on the way to the United Kingdom to take part in the Coronation Ceremonies. En route through the Mediterranean the ships have visited Tobruk where the Australian and New Zealand troops saw heavy fighting during the war. Admiral Earl Mountbatten of Burma inspected the ship's Companies of the two visiting ships, and an Anzac Memorial Church Service was held aboard HMAS Sydney.
