Oct. 10, 1962 - Underwater activities congress opens. Admiral of the fleet Earl Mountbatten today opened the world congress of underwater activities at church House, Westminster, divers and scientists of 32 countries will discuss ocean research, and an exhibition is being held in conjunction with the conferences. photo shows Earl Mountbatten examines a revolutionary underwater development the Aquamobile submarine, nicknamed Sub-bubble a runabout which can carry three passengers. When they fill it with water it floats just below the surface, and the passengers breathe with aqualung equipment
