Lord Mountbatten visiting Wormwood Scrubs prison
Nov. 11, 1966 - Jail Security Probe Team Hold First Meeting: Earl Mountbatten and his three assessors who are to inquire into prison security, held their first full meeting in London this morning. This afternoon they will visit Wormwood Scrubs, the jail spy George Blake escaped from 10 days ago. Earl Mountbatten's three assessors are Mr. R.J. Lees, Deputy Director (Equipment) Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough; Mr. Robert Mar, Chief Constable of Leicester, and Mr. J.R.G. Bantook, a former Governor of Strangeways and Brixton Prisons, now retired.
