Lord Nuffield with 1939 Wolseley Eight car

May 05, 1955 - Lord Nuffield the Car Chief - Uses 1932 Baby!!!. Does Not Like Modern Cars.. Lord Nuffield the 77 year old car king who could afford any number of the world's most expensive limousines - is still using the same car that he first used sixteen years ago - an 8 H.P Wolseley made in 1939 - but which because of the war - was not on sale until 1946.. He said he likes the car better than any other - for he says that it does all he wants - and it is small enough to be parked almost anywhere.. He also says that he does not like many of the modern ideas in new cars - such as steering column, gear exchange. etc.. Keystone Photo Shows: Lord Nuffield seen beside his 1939 Wolseley Eight - the only car he likes to drive. at his home - Nuffield Place
