Luise Rinser, German writer, 65th birthday
1976 - Writer Luise Rinser will become 65: On April 30th 1976, the German writer Luise Rinser will become 65 years old. Born in Pitzling in Upper Bavaria, she studied psychology and pedagogy which she finished in 1934 and after which she was a teacher in Salzburg for four years. In 1940 her first novel The Glass Rings was published, one year later she was forbidden to write. 1944-45 she was in prison because of sedition (Prison Diary, 1946). After the war she worked as a journalist and reviewer and became a freelance writer then in Italy. The themes of her novels are mostly the lives of women, but later she turned more and more to religious matters. Luise Rinser is a member of the Academy of Arts in Berlin and of the German Pen Centre. Some of her work are: First Love'.
