Malaya Veterans To Parade For Queen Elizabeth II

1962 - Singapore - After nearly three years of jungle fighting in Malaya, the 1st Battalion, the Cameroonians, have left for Scotland where they will perform ceremonial duties during the Queen's visit, June 23-29. The British-led battle against Communism in Malaya, which involves a total force of nearly 300, 000 men and so far has cost the equivalent of 24 million, is now entering its sixth year. The Cameroonians, sailing from Singapore, are given a send-off by pipers and drummers of the 1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders who travelled from Malaya for the occasion.
