Man carries cross from Berlin to Portugal and back
Jan. 22, 1954 - To save his fellow citizens souls from their faults and crimes committed during the war, this inhabitant of the English zone of Berlin is carrying a cross from Berlin to Portugal and back on foot. He met with the Pope in Rome, then continued on to the Montserrat Monastery in Lourdes near Barcelona. He will be in Portugal for Easter and will come back to Berlin from there (still on foot)
