Feb. 26 Scotland Yard faces newest crime wave - latest pictures of the Yard at work. New Scotland Yard - the nerve centre of the Metropolitan Police - has never been as busy as it is at the present time - for on its shoulders rests the investigation of crimes not only in Great Britain but the world as well - through Interpol which deals with major international rackets. These are the latest pictures of the Yard at work and shows aspects of the Information room, opened at the beginning of 1957. Here incidents within an area of 742 square miles - the Metropolitan and City districts of London - are reported through the million calls received each year. A two-way radio-telephone system sees to the needs and safety of a population of nearly nine million.
