Manuel Santana, tennis player, cheered by ballboys

Jul. 02, 1966 - Santana The New Wimbledon Champion The Ballboy Who Made Good: It was an emotional moment for Manuel Santana, the ballboy who became Wimbledon Champion yesterday, when he was cheered by Wimbledon's own ballboys, the boys from Dr. Barnardo's Homes. It took the Spaniard back to the time when he was working for a Madrid club for one shilling and sixpence a day. That was before a businessman made Santana his protege. Photo shows Wimbledon Champion Santana gets a cheer from Wimbledon's ballboys
