1962 - Industrial Textiles Trade Fair. Suits of the future!!! Traffic was held up this morning outside the Royal Albert Hall when three models demonstrating the types of protective clothing were to be seen arriving for the First National Industrial Textiles Trade Fair. Marshal Bulganin and Mr. Kruschev were passing at the time and looked out their car at the strange sight. Keystone Photo Shows: Three models in their Suits of the future type of outfits this morning. They are L-R: Peter Hogard in an asbestos suit for protection against fire, designed for used with tunnel kilns in the glazing of pottery; Jean Clark, wearing a new type of nursing sisters outfit and Michael Connor in an inflatable exposure suit supplied to the R.A.F. for protection after ditching. It has inflation tube on the sleeve, blows up and the quitting of the garment supplies a layer of warm air to provide immediate insulation.
