The Serious Business of Clowning All the world loves a clown according to the popular song, and the ceramic clowns created by well-known potter Kristen Pratt are certainly gaining in popularity. Kristen, who has a studio at Beaulieu, Hants, has loved the circus since her childhood in South Africa. To help preserve the individuality of her hand-made clowns she has enlisted the help of Bill Thompson, better known as Bruno the clown, who has been acting as her model. I think it's sad that the circus clown us losing some of his former glory, and this is my way of restoring it, she explains.
