May 05, 1973 - IImperial Tobacco to build Tobacco substitute plant: Imperial Tobacco today announced that under an agreement with ICI they are to set up a factory at Ardeer, Ayrshire to produce on a commercial scale the tobacco substitute - NSM (New Smoking Material) on which they and ICI have been working so long, and which it is hoped will contribute to a reduction in the incidence of diseases associated with cigarette smoking.
